Subtle Yoga

I attended a week long meditation retreat at the Forest Refuge in Barre, Mass. from Feb. 7-14.  This retreat practice is focused on learning deeper ways to build equanimity in the mind.  This weekend I will be teaching a 3 hour meditation workshop on Sat., Feb. 20, 2010 from 1-4 p.m. at Yoga Springs Studio. Good Time for Subtle Yoga while the Snow Falls-Postural Shifts that Relieve neck, shoulder, back and joint discomforts!

Since I last wrote about my new class Subtle Yoga, I have added a class on Monday night starting Jan.25-Mar. 1 from 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.  I am trying to offer the class in morning and evening times to meet the varied schedules my students have.

Different titles speak to different interests in strength, ease of chronic discomfort and inner peace. My new title *Subtle Yoga* I hope conveys my commitment to teaching students small postural shifts that make in big difference in relieving neck, shoulder, back and even joint discomforts.

My teacher, Mary Sinclair will  begin morning classes of  “Subtle Yoga” from Feb. 3-Mar. 10 and Mar. 17-Apr. 21 at Yoga Springs Studio from 10-11:15 a.m. Please call the studio at (37 767 9300 to register, pre-pay for 6 classes is required.

Meanwhile the Healthy Posture Clinic is holding strong from 7:15-8:30 p.m. on Monday nights from Oct. 5-Nov. 30.  The Nov. 30 class is the big one!  We will be visited by my teacher, Mary Sinclair, certified Balance Yoga teacher.  She has taught a workshop for us in October.

Since June I attend Mary’s class at Yoga on High sudio in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday nights.  Please call me for information or interest in exploring these remarkable  simple and effective “balance” shifts that offers ease through all daily movements: bending, sitting (on line), walking, standing (in line!), even sleeping improves for many.
